Farm, Derwentwater.
Robin by Derwent water. The place seems alive with these nice chaps at the moment, foraging for food in the cold.
Looking down on Borrowdale from Watendlath.

So the Calthwaite pub gets some new life.

I get volounteered to take a snap for the Carlise newspaper. They've done well so far. No power for the first 10 days of ownership but managed to keep the beer flowing under candlelight. The church lends them a generator for power so they offer the pub for Sunday services. Great spirits and should do well.

Lucys of Ambleside

An old haunt has got even better whilst we were away. Lucys now has a great speciality food outlet, serves teas during the day and legendary deserts (after a meal) come evening.

Atmospheric misty morning on the way to Blencathra.

Sheep being herded through the village.

Sunrise on another calm day.

No power at the pub

Beer by candle light at Calthwaite. The new landlords are in at the deep end. The day after they moved in storms blew a huge tree down across their power line. It seems they will be without power for some time yet.

Weather improves once more.

Blue skies over Penrith, a great relief after the worst storms and flooding for generations.

Stand of trees damaged in the wind.

Storm damage

Old pine wiped over by stormy weather in Cumbria. The worst storms for 200 years.
